Albania: Medical Centre of Excellence

In 2016, archQuestra put together a proposal for a new Medical Centre of Excellence in Tirana, Albania. The strategic planning was carried out by a talented and diverse team of specialists.

Create Vision & Brief
 
The team commenced work by creating an overall vision for the Medical Centre and forming a brief, which was presented to the Government of Albania, City Authorities, Health and Finance ministries, Atelier Albania and stakeholders.

Form integrated team
 
Following the initial presentation, a joint, multi-disciplinary British /Albanian team was formed to lead the masterplan framework for an international Centre of Excellence for Medicine for Albania.

Design deliver
 
Subsequent stages included setting out a design and business plan followed by the construction and delivery of this large, well-equipped modern children’s hospital and medical facility with integrated campus for Albania and its sub-region.

Public space
 
The proposed development concept for the Medical Centre would be centred on a new public square in Albania's capital of Tirana, and modelled on St George's Hospital NHS Trust, London.
