Seychelles: Blue Paradise 2022 Proposed Arts Festival

Blue Paradise 2022 is a proposal by archQuestra Ltd and SID Group of Seychelles to create an international festival of music, poetry, literature, architecture and visual arts, to celebrate the global Blue Economy. To be held in Victoria, the capital of the beautiful Seychelles, on the main island of Mahe, the Festival will be inspired  by the strategy for London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, providing a major catalyst for urban regeneration for the city. Like London 2012, a well organised cultural festival  could deliver a significant boost to the Seychelles global tourism "brand" and  its visitor numbers and economy, together with the potential of a vibrant cultural legacy for adults, children and young people.

The Seychelles Strategic Land Use and Development Plan, has established an excellent strategic vision from 2015 -2040. Commissioned by the Seychelles Government and sponsored by Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, it promotes a vision which supports the realisation of sustainable development and environmental, economic and social resilience.

As with London 2012, Seychelles and the Seychellois stand to benefit from a "Blue Paradise Legacy" of regeneration through infrastructure development, refurbished buildings and new jobs and businesses in the creative industries. In addition, there will be a revived sense of civic pride and renewal of modern creole culture, which will benefit the children and young people of the Seychelles.
